Thank you for the opportunity to show you how we can contribute to the diverse and vibrant atmosphere of your fair.
We are Root Awakening – a family venture based in Carlsbad, New Mexico.
We strive to show our love for art and beauty in the heart of the southwest. We produce a variety of products imbued with this spirit. In addition, we offer a rare service that any renaissance fair needs.

The Tico
Our signature product. The Tico, a small acoustic stringed instrument, reminiscent of a lute and size of a ukulele. The Tico was designed to accompany the fun and anachronistic nature of a renaissance fair. It can be worn to complement fair costumes and is a real musical instrument. It is easy to learn and play.
As the proud creators of the Tico, we play and sing to engage attendees. We love meeting people visiting our booth while serenading them with music, singing, and playful banter.
Stargazers
We also offer a practical and popular product – Stargazers. Our Stargazer chairs are handcrafted wood chairs that pack flat for easy carry. They are comfortable to recline in, yet sturdy and durable enough for use wearing full fighting armor. While resting between bouts, knights wearing armor and weapons truly appreciate the ability to recline in our Stargazer chairs. The carvings, color, and design are perfectly matched for both ladies and lords enjoying the renaissance fair.
Craft Products
Other products we offer include charming woodcrafts, such as keepsake boxes, votive candle holders, hair forks, trays, cutting boards, and carved signs. We also sell custom printed t-shirts with whimsical graphics specific to renaissance fair aficionados.
Booth
Lastly, our booth consists of a tent and utility trailer. The tent is decorated to showcase our wares in a comfortable and welcoming manner. However, we offer a unique, but much needed service to fair attendees. Mishaps no longer have to spoil attendees’ enjoyment because our trailer is actually a fully functioning repair shop. We are able to perform a wide variety of repairs to costumes, mock weapons, bags, and packs. We can provide sewing, tailoring, leatherwork, and functional repair services immediately while customers wait. This is an essential service needed at any renaissance fair.
